General, overall crazy kind of day

Today has been challenging. It started last night with N being in the night weening stage. He doesn't like the idea very much but I feel that it's time and he mainly uses me as a pacifier at night. Anyway he simply couldn't sleep last night for who knows what reason, but the big issue was getting him back to sleep. He just can't fathom going back to sleep at night without nursing. Anyway after much coaxing, soothing and helping him lay back down repeatedly we finnaly made it to the morning. As soon as he woke up he was ready to get into everything! I pulled him out of one cabinet only to find him nearly running for the next one. By noon I was ready to hit the pause and reset button on the day.
I got everyone lunch and sat down to relax for a few minutes. At one point I turned around to check on the kiddos at the table and saw that my daughter was no longer finishing up her art project. She had been very meticulously cutting a paper to shreds with child safe scissors when her hair started coming loose from her pony tail. Since it was getting into her face she decided to fix it! Short way to put it is... she now has bangs on one side of her head. :-D  I called her Aunt, my sis in law asking for help since I haven't got the first clue of how to trim hair. I'm simply not gifted or interested in that department.

After sweeping up the hair, informing J once again that scissors are only for cutting paper.... (Not sure how I'm going to explain that I use them to cut fabric. Junk, I feel bad now. I will have to fix that on my own.) I sat down once again, this time with J next to me. My son N took off down the hallway, that should have been my first clue that he was on a mission and something was up. J and I worked on finishing our lunch and listening to a Internet radio program. N was gone for less than four minutes. Next thing I knew N was trying to clean the toilet with the toilet brush. I told him to put it back and instead of putting it back he decided (I guess) to bring it to me. He carried the dripping wet toilet bowl brush down the hall way and into the living room.

So now life is back to some semblance of quiet. I am sitting here blogging and the kiddos are asleep for their afternoon nap. We'll see what the afternoon is like, it has however been a general overall crazy kind of day.

March Excitement

In our family news today:

My oldest, J turns 3 years old on Saturday. I still can't get over that fact.
She's grown to be the most responsible 3 year old I know. We're planning a big pink birthday for her and her first party with friends over. Also she's getting a bike, pink one of course. I can't wait and I'm super proud of her!

Hubbs and I found out yesterday that we have another little goober due in November.
I am seriously stoked! I have no clue where we will put baby #3 when he or she makes their appearance on the scene. Well, ok so our newest little one will start out sleeping in our room, just like the older two have.
However we are about to do a major shuffle.

Work outs

So for one of my work outs I've been using one of the shows on Netflix. I love it. It's a dance work out and I think it's a blast. However I can hardly get through the whole thing because my son N, at about a third of the way through, begins following me around the floor crying. He's been doing this for a couple of months now, and I think I finally figured out why. He loves to dance. He especially loves dancing with me holding him.  He's a real social bug and I'm pretty sure one of his biggest love languages is quality time. But I can't do this work out properly with him in my arms, or on my back. :-( If I could only figure out how to get him to dance on his own. Then he could have quality time with me and we could both have fun dancing.

Sons

Moms, love your son enough to learn to understand him as a man. Love your son enough to grant him unconditional respect which will let him know you love him more than all your words, and all your nurturing.

Fever

So this past week N got sick with some kind of a virus (I think). He ran a very high fever and had a slightly snotty nose, if you could even call it that. You know how it goes as a mom when your kids are sick you go looking for any sign of anything else. Whenever he would cool off a little he was smiling and wanted to play. No ear aches, no tummy aches, no rashes, no swelling around his face or neck, nothing! Just two and half days of fever. Thank you Jesus that it was over quickly!
I was so glad that we're still nursing. He didn't feel like eating much of anything but he wanted to nurse as often as possible. That was such a blessing since it meant I could take lots of extra vitamins and some natural antibiotics to get some of that to him. Then there's the blessing of nursing every hour or so to help him stay hydrated knowing that he was getting the best nutrients possible. I didn't get much sleep but he recovered really quickly!
I nearly took him to the doctor on Saturday because he was just so hot. However since I could get his fever down with infant tylenol and warm baths we decided we would continue to wait and see how he did. N was given everything known to be safe for babies of his age that has shown any sign of being effective against viruses. That said, after much prayer and much research of every website I trust, and having Hubby be the superman of encouragement, we're over it. Now we're just waiting for that 24 hour all clear period to pass so we can have friends over. Tomorrow is N's 1st birthday! I'm super excited and very grateful that he's well.
