This is probably my favorite bread. I used to be intimidated by yeast breads. Growing up we only attempted them a few times and for some reason they were always a flop, literally. Over the past two years however, I have played around with homemade pizza crust and once I felt like I mastered it I have started eyeing bigger projects- hence the focaccia bread. First let me say that I had to look up this word just to make sure that I knew how to say it. I found that I have been pronouncing it wrong. It should be said like this “Fo-cau-sha.” I have been saying as “Fo-kay-see-ya.”
Here is half of the loaf once it was done. (I know I should have taken a picture of it before I cut into it).
After I made the bread I sliced it in half and made theses really yummy sandwiches for Hubbs and I.
The sandwich above has tomatoes (from my garden), cheddar cheese, fresh spinach, and a mix of the following sautéed veggies: garlic, mushrooms, olives, onions, and zucchini (also from my garden ). And last, but not least, parmesan cheese!
