Narration

I'm very excited. J just narrated her first book. This is such an important part of learning for children and such an easy way to teach reading comprehension. We started with a very simple book. We read a page and then she told me what each page said. It made the book so much more fun for both of us. It helped her to focus and listen carefully to what was being read and not just stare at the pictures. This is all part of the Charlotte Mason form of education that I am using for my homeschool. I'm designing my own curriculum, but building it around the principles of Charlotte Mason. I went to a Charlotte Mason School in Fredericksburg TX for my sophomore year of high school and fell in love with the method of instruction. It creates a love for learning that helps the student to understand that learning is a life long practice and habit. Subjects begin to have a relationship and cease to be just abstract concepts broken into boxes with no correlation. As we continue on this journey I'll let you know more about it. If you want more information now, then check out this link. Or read this amazing and worthwhile book. (Seen below)
